development of national standards for steel products, including harmonized American (ASTM), international (ISO), and European (EN) standards for hot-rolled channels, beams, angles, SIP profiles for mining excavations, half-slab, rolled sections for the upper structure of railroad tracks and agriculture;
development of technical specifications for hot-rolled and continuously cast steel billets: rolled section shapes and special products, steel bands, bent sections, wide-strip universal rolled products, rails and rail fasteners, grinding balls and cylpeps, rolled products of increased and high machinability, rolled sections for cold upsetting, metallurgical saw disks and iron-cutting knives, rolling rolls and blanks for rolls and rollers, pipeline shut-off valves for water, gases and other elements of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gas purification equipment for chemical, metallurgical and other industries;
providing feedback on projects of international, interstate and national standards in the field of metallurgical production;
providing scientific, methodological and practical assistance to metallurgical enterprises on standardization issues;
conducting expert examination and normative control of draft normative documents for metallurgical products.
